Simon J. Samaha, MD leads the tricenna management team and is ultimately responsible for all aspects of the management services for each of the network practices. As a physician and experienced executive, Simon has spent the past 15 years of his career serving physician organizations as a hands-on executive and as a partner in a global consulting firm. Simon’s style is very open, transparent, and collaborative, thriving on intellectual honesty. His key focus and priorities are high quality and convenience in patient services, delivering the best support to each and every provider, and the growing success of each and every practice.
He has a wealth of healthcare experience in areas such as strategy development, convergence provider payer, physician alignment, technology-enabled care, analytics, consumer engagement, and restructuring. Simon has more than 20 years of experience practicing medicine and running healthcare provider organizations in the U.S., serving in a variety of operational, strategic, business development, and information technology roles, resulting in significant accomplishments in the turnaround of organizations.
Before joining tricenna, Simon was a partner with PwC, where he worked with healthcare practices in Europe, India, the Middle East, and Africa. After returning to the U.S., he focused on provider advisory services. Prior to joining PwC, Simon was the president and chief executive officer of the largest independently operated multi-specialty medical practice in New Jersey. Simon has held various roles at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, New Jersey, including senior executive vice president and chief medical officer. In this role, he oversaw the 375-member University Physicians Practice and most clinical departments, including information technology, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, and quality programs.
Simon earned his MBA at New York University Stern School of Business, his MS in information systems at Drexel University, and his MD at Saint Joseph University in Lebanon. He is board certified in internal medicine. Simon is also a frequent guest lecturer to MBA students at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management and New York University's Stern School of Business.
